Zip Pulls for Lyme Relief
Dear Friends,
It has been some time since I've updated this blog. I have been recovering from chronic Lyme disease. It's been a long road, but I'm happy to feel well enough to be giving you news of a new project.
I am pleased to announce a new project called "Zip Pulls for Lyme Relief." I am launching a campaign to sell $2000 worth of my Fern House Studio zip pulls to put towards my Lyme recovery. I hope you will take part!
There are 3 styles available: owl, bunny and lucky kitty zip pulls. Each zip pull is $10.95 plus $4.05 shipping and tax. The more zip pulls you buy, the better the deal. So total price, 1 zip pull = $15, 2 = $28, and 3 = $36. (If you want more than 3, go with the $12 each price).
You can purchase these at my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/fernhousestudio
To see my newest watercolors, please visit my FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/fhs.giftedhand
Don't forget to "like" it while you are there.
I have a new Ebay shop featuring items from my studio as well as Japanese pottery finds and other handmade goods. Check it out by clicking here.

You Can Help
Dear Friends,
My friend Sarah Brandon
sent out this email to help me out recently. If you feel moved to
help, that would be greatly appreciated. I know you all have your own
projects and problems and have no expectations. Wishing you all the best.
Dear Friends of Christina
Heiniger,
Putting a call out to all
of you seeking your help and support for Christina who is feeling quite
debilitated from a chronic shoulder and back injury, which was made worse after
a car accident last Summer. To top this off, she recently reinjured her
shoulder and isn’t able to work. Until now she has attempted to forge ahead
with a brave face and has mustered a positive attitude, but having this injury
while being self-employed, without health insurance and living by herself has
taken it’s toll – not only physically, but emotionally and financially.
Currently Christina is not able to drive, lift heavy items or handle some of
the everyday tasks at home that we often take for granted. That’s where we come
in…

Gifted Hand Show Receives MAC Grant
I'm pleased to announce that the Gifted Hand Show has received an Arts Visibility Grant from the Maine Arts Commission. The grant will be used for a special invite program for Maine gallery owners, members of Maine State Government, arts patrons and collectors, members of the media, and Maine museum directors. The goal is to benefit Show Artisans by connecting them with new outlets for their work. We also seek to spread information about the creative economy to those in leadership positions in State Government. It is an honor to receive this grant, which was sought after by applicants throughout the State. It is a testament to the quality of the Gifted Hand Show and the Artisans involved to win this grant. The Maine Arts Commission is a State agency that seeks to encourage public interest and participation in the cultural heritage programs of our State. The agency also strives to expand the state's cultural resources, as well as encourage and assist freedom of artistic expression for the well being of the arts.
The Gifted Hand Show is an annual fine art, craft and gift show taking place in Ellsworth. Now in its seventh year, the show features works by sixty five juried Maine Artisans. Including pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, glass, wood, and paintings, the show has become a Holiday shopping tradition in the area. This year's show will take place at the Ellsworth Ramada on November 9 and 10. Cleonice Bistro will also be at the show selling meals and snacks. For more information visit www.giftedhandshow.com or email show organizer Christina Heiniger at fernhousestudio@roadrunner.com
